Mission

My mission is to communicate complex science topics to a public with a wide variety of backgrounds through art.

Raised on the West Coast of the USA, I always knew I wanted to be a scientist. However, this path has taken me in many different directions and, quite literally, different corners of the country. I received my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with an Emphasis in Marine Ecology from Western Washington University in  Bellingham, Washington. Over the years, I have participated in field work, data collection, commercial fishing, and educating the public on various environmental conservation topics. Most recently as an AmeriCorps member, I taught in an environmental science magnet school in Connecticut. There, as in any of these endeavors, I always tried to incorporate art in my work life in some capacity.

In 2023, I enrolled in Rhode Island School of Design, where I am studying to get a Natural Science Illustration certification through their continuing education program.

In my free time, I enjoy playing board games, knitting, listening to Taylor Swift, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
